Whassup Goes to the Birds

This New York Step down pet store built on stage in Los Angeles, for the version of the popular Budweiser “Whassup!” campaign

I based the look of pet store partially on the fish store in the movie Erotica, I was inspired by the mood and graphic look of the wall of fish tanks. We shot our version on stage light for day in our aspirational fantasy remake of  whassup. The birds were filmed to be in sync with the unedited original whassup dialog sound track.

“Whassup” Around the World Budweiser Foreign Languages

This New York Step down pet store built on stage in Los Angeles, for the version of the popular Budweiser “Whassup!” campaign

Following up the success of commercials directed by Charles Stone III,  based on a short film, entitled “True”, that featured Stone and several of his childhood friends – Fred Thomas, Paul Williams, Terry Williams, and Kevin Lofton. The characters sat around talking on the phone and saying “Whassup!” to one another in a comical way. DDB, who took the idea to August A. Busch IV, vice president of Anheuser-Busch. Budweiser, followed up with a number of remakes one of the most popular were Birds and FOREIGN LANGUAGES, directed Craig Gillespie of MJZ and Productions designed by Chris Goodmanson, the Spot also winning a Bronze Lion at the Cannes Film Festival for the DDB agency Art Director.

When Dreaming takes You There… McRibs are back

This was a fun project we found an abandoned office space which offered us a good space which, we brought in cubicles desks and dressing adding a rear window wall to define the space.  Now we needed a living room set so we built a 3 wall with floor in the subterranean garage space in the office building location. to do this I choose previously used  set walls and flooring. With some paint and a some dressing we transformed the garage to a a second story walk up.
